About The "Tax Grab"

The Tax Grab Amendment was created by the teachers' union, headquartered in Clark County. They want people to think it's a simple plan to increase school funding by imposing a "small" tax increase on casinos.

In reality, their proposal would lock the biggest tax grab in Nevada history into our state constitution, create an unfair new school funding formula and damage our state's economy.

Dear Coalition Members,

As you’ve probably heard in the news, the tax proposal that our citizens coalition was organized to oppose will not be appearing on Nevada’s November state ballot. The sponsors decided not to turn in the required number of voter signatures.

We believe that our coalition’s grassroots efforts played a key role in that outcome, and we’d like to heartily thank you and the thousands of other Nevadans who supported us.

We will continue to monitor developments on the school funding front. If there’s a need to take action again to protect the interests of rural Nevadans and our state economy, we will certainly let you know.
